Christa's Portfolio

As part of trio of artist/designer collective The Unseen, in collaboration with Reebok.

The Unseen and Reebok will begin a journey into developing a sports legging that will inform the user when they have warmed up sufficiently so as to reduce the possibility of injury.
The aim is to communicate to the user the optimum time to warm up, stretch and push yourself during exercise so as to prevent muscle/tendon damage.

I contributed the above print  for legging and top. The pattern was inspired by the Cuttlefish, which morphs and shifts pattern to communicate and camouflage.

Gathering skin surface temperatures and muscle tension data before > during > after exercise accross different muscle groups within the body, and accross age and gender. Test differences in muscle surface temperature during Cardio Vascular exercise and resistence training.

The print changes colour via subtle temperature fluctuations accross the body, indicating to the user when the body has reached optimum levels to stretch / train / cool down.

By gather skin surface temperatures and muscle tension data before > during > after exercise
accross different muscle groups within the body, and accross age and gender. Including running tests between differences in muscle surface temperature during Cardio Vascular exercise and resistence training.
